NewsGator go! for BlackBerry v2. 1. 8

Version 2.1.8 of the NewsGator released the guys at NewsGator go! for BlackBerry product that is an RSS reader for BlackBerry. I am a giant feed fan, I though I would say two things about this product that are particularly important for the company:

Synchronization: When you create a post in NewsGator Go read!, it automatically as read in any other you use NewsGator client marks is. I am subscribed to over 200 feeds and while I'm not traveling that read the ability a feed on your mobile device and then not have to see it often, is a really big deal.
Access to internal feeds: If the company you work for uses any web2.0ish Web applications that tend to make RSS produce feeds such as rabbit babies, then appreciate the combination of NewsGator go!, NewsGator Enterprise Server and your BlackBerry because you are able, feeds, lives inside your firewall to subscribe, something that feed is the most reading applications unable to do. Big.

NewsGator go! is available for BlackBerry for $29.95, you can download a free trial. March 16, 2007 in software, tips by ajohnson

Emergency cell phone charger

If you ever have been involved in building a large scale network, you have undoubtedly heard of failure about single points. The BlackBerry network itself is a single point of failure when we saw last week: if it fails, every single person that relies on BlackBerry email is hosed (pun intended: it's a Canadian device!). But for yourself the biggest single point of failure is probably your battery: If you run out of juice out and have your travel charger, you are well... hosed.

That is, where the latest BlackBerry accessories I found in the game: a
Emergency cell phone charger that is running from a couple (four to be exact) double AA batteries. This gadget can be used anywhere: it generates an additional 20-30 minutes of talk time, if your battery is drained out and fits in your pocket or purse. Select one until now before your battery runs out!

Big brother, Google maps and your BlackBerry

The guys at Skylab mobile system have done it again: keep these applications I can imagine life without create. The latest is called Mobile Tracker and described as follows in your press release:

of already built-in GPS receiver is the BlackBerry 8800 Series, MobileTracker located record track logs. This track logs are stored on the BlackBerry's internal micro SD card and can appear directly in Google Earth when you have connected the BlackBerry to your desktop and then click the track file. To allow more flexibility, it is possible to configure the delay between location recordings. If you are on a ship across the Atlantic to 5 minutes to specify also the delay. MobileTracker works anywhere in the world, even without network coverage.

So now if my child is 16 and the car would go, I only stick my BlackBerry in the car and have it pumps out updates on a Web site that understands the track file (I don't think it can do this now, but my child is only 2.5 years old, so you've got 13.5 years to get their act together). Someone believes this isn't going to happen in 5 years? Children everywhere are devastated. When is the first transfer phone going online block?

And anyway, you can more on MobileTracker and check out a cool demo on YouTube.com.

MobileTracker stands for $24.99 nearby.
